Growing in faith and love through worship, discipleship, and service.

Chancel Adult Choir

The Chancel Adult Choir of First United Methodist Church is the primary worship choir for the church's 11 a.m. Sunday worship service. Comprised of over 60 members representing young adults to senior adults, the central goal of the choir is to worship God with its musical offerings. The choir presents an annual Christmas concert with orchestra that is regarded as one of the finest in the area. Additionally, they have presented several major choral works with orchestra through the years.

They have appeared before the Holston Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church on several occasions, as well as the Tennessee American Choral Director’s Association, the Washington National Cathedral and the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC. The choir has commissioned anthems by American composers David L. Brunner, Austin Lovelace, Alfred Fedak and Alice Parker.  The members of the choir enjoy social activities which strengthen their bonds of friendship and fellowship in Jesus Christ.
