Growing in faith and love through worship, discipleship, and service.

    Children's Choirs

FUMC's 3rd-6th grade children's choir will present The Lost Boy, a musical which tells the story of Luke 2:39-52. Mary and Joseph lose track of twelve year old Jesus for three days and when they finally find him, he is sitting in his "father's house" - demonstrating with his questions a great understanding of God. Within the musical is a reassuringly human message: even parents chosen by God can lose a child; even a perfect child can give his parents anxiety.  Our performers won't give you anxiety as they present the result of all their hard work!  Join us April 21st at 3pm and April 22nd at 3pm (when they are joined by the Angel Choir and the Cherub Choir) in the Fellowship Hall.

Why sing in Children's Choir?

  • Because we memorize scripture through songs. That's a gift that will bless your child his or her entire life.

  • Because music speaks to the hearts and souls of children. They love to praise God in song!

  • Because children gain a sense of accomplishment when serving their church as worship leaders.

  • Because beautiful music leads to great friendships, and children who have friends at church are more likely to see themselves as a part of the family of God.

All About Children's Choirs at FUMC...

All choirs rehearse at a new time this year: Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:00, directly following Wednesday Night Supper.  Rehearsals begin August 17th and run through April, except for during school breaks

In December our children will present a Christmas concert. In the spring, our three children's choirs present a concert, with the Young Musicians Choir presenting a musical.

Our Choirs:

Cherub Choir is for children who are age 4 by Sept. 30, or in kindergarten. This choir focuses on learning to praise God through song. They will sing in our worship services about 3 times per year, and participate in the Christmas and spring concerts.

Angel Choir is for children in grades 1 and 2. This choir sings about once per month, rotating between all the worship services. It also participates in the Christmas and spring concerts.

Young Musicians Choir is for children in grades 3-6. During the school year, the Young Musicians Choir sings about once per month in worship, participates in the Christmas concert, and performs a spring musical as well (see
photos from last spring).
