FUMC offers various prayer services throughout the day built around the ancient monastic canonical hours. These short services are located in the chapel and include prayers, psalms, scripture, and singing. All are welcome to join for any of the services. You are encouraged to call the church before to make sure these services are happening each day or visit the calendar page to make sure. 

Morning Prayer (Lauds) Monday-Thursday 8:15 am

This traditional service prayer service from the Book of Common Prayer (1979)  for the start of a day begins with a request for  " the words of our mouth and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in God's sight, O Lord." Lasting around 15-minutes, Morning Prayer includes canticles, Psalms, scripture, and prayers. Led by Br. Seth O'Kegley, OSL.

Mid-Day Prayer (Sext) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 12:00 pm

This prayer service is part of the Diurnal offices (9 am, noon, and 3 pm). Lasting around 5 minutes, the service includes prayers, psalms, and scripture. Led by Br. Seth O'Kegley, OSL.

Morning Prayer with Eucharist Tuesday 8:15 am

Tuesdays at FUMC begin with Morning Prayer and the celebration of Holy Communion. Led by one of the pastors, this 15-20 minute service includes scripture, prayers, and the breaking and sharing of the bread in the Sacrament. All are invited to join!

Centering Prayer Tuesday 12:00 pm

Centering Prayer lasts roughly 45 minutes and includes a Lectio Divina (scripture study) and silence to feel, hear, and understand God's presence. Led by the Reverend Jenny Caughman.
