First United Methodist Church in the Community Day

May 2, 8:30 - 2:30
Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.
— 1 Peter 4:10

Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 2 from 8:30 am-12:30 pm! As followers of God, we are called to love and serve our neighbors. Through this day of service to the community, we put our faith in action and share the love of Christ by using our gifts and talents to serve those around us. Opportunities for service will include: Girls Inc., Oak Ridge schools, Habitat build, home repairs, yard work, playing games and visiting with the people at the nursing home, sorting donations at the Habitat store, TORCH, and Agape House.

During “Church in the Community Day,” volunteers will meet at the church for a time of opening worship, and then spread out to assist in groups all over Oak Ridge. All ages and skill levels are welcome to serve. Sunday School classes, small groups and families can sign up together, and individuals are welcome to sign up as well.

To register or get more information, please contact Crystal Smith at 483-4357 or or use the form below. You may also register in the church office, and the Welcome Center. Deadline to sign up is Friday, April 24.
