Welcome, Dr. Jaclyn Johnson!

      We are happy to welcome Dr. Jaclyn Johnson as our new Director of Choral Ministries! Jaclyn recently received her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan and is currently the Interim Associate Director of Choral Activities at the University of Tennessee (Go Vols!).

      As a director, she taught at the high school level for eight years and has been a Minister of Music in the United Methodist Church for the past eleven years. Additionally, she has directed collegiate, choral, and orchestral ensembles including the University of Michigan Women’s Glee Club, Orpheus Singers, and Michigan Pops Orchestra. Johnson earned a Master of Music degree in Conducting at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in Long Beach, California, and a Master of Teaching degree, Bachelor of Music degree in Conducting, and Bachelor of Music Education degree from Chapman University.

Jaclyn will lead the Youth and Adult Choirs each week in the traditional service as well as oversee all of the choral ministries of First Church. Please welcome her, and her husband, Ron, to our church!
