Confirmation Sunday is May 1

Confirmation in the United Methodist Church is a significant time of study and reflection, and a time of intentional preparation which leads to the first public profession of faith. During this time, young persons “make firm” what has gone before: God’s prevenient grace, baptism, the teaching and witness of parents and other persons of faith, and the student’s own growing faith.

The Confirmation Class at FUMC is a nine-month study for 6th graders, which takes place during the Sunday School hour. The class is taught by our pastors, youth director, and children and family ministries director on a rotating basis. There are several retreats that take place during the year to build community, adventure, and faith.

Join us on Sunday, May 1 at the combined 11 am service in the Sanctuary to welcome these 12 new members into the church!

The schedule for the Sunday morning services will be:

8:45 am           Traditional Service, Sanctuary

9:50 am            Sunday School for all ages

11:00 am           Combined Service, Sanctuary (No contemporary service)
