Salt Shakers has moved by popular demand from Sunday to Saturday. Many church members who would like to participate have experienced conflicts between Salt Shakers and their other church and family Sunday activities. We would love to add new Salt Shaker members. You are invited to join!

We enjoy these dinners and think you would as well. We meet in assigned homes monthly from September to May for a covered dish social at 6 p.m. on the Saturday evening preceding the second Sunday. This means that our meetings are not necessarily on the second Saturday evening. It also means that we spend time together over a nice home-cooked meal and get to know others in our church in a relaxed, friendly home environment.

Monthly attendance is not required but you must share hosting responsibilities. Couples or pairing individuals host twice a year and express their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for each semester. Individuals host once and make their selections from either semester. Hosting assignments are based on these requests. Members determine how many guests they can accommodate. They plan the menu and provide the meat and beverage.

Individual Salt Shaker members can choose to host a Christmas Open House or a Summer Picnic for the entire group instead of hosting a regular dinner. The place, date and time of these special events is determined by the host.

An effort is made to "mix" the participants so that they have an opportunity to dine with all other members. Contact Jo Hunter at 482-5268 or jowhunter@cs.com for information.
