Growing in faith and love through worship, discipleship, and service.

First United Methodist Small Group Ministries

God designed people for community. Each of us has a desire "to belong" somewhere. At First United Methodist Church, we understand that worship on Sunday is uplifting, a time to celebrate God, and an important part of our spiritual growth but it is also important that we continue our worship, prayer, and study throughout the week. Small groups at FUMCOR provide a wonderful opportunity to worship, pray, and study in a small community.

Even Jesus did not do it alone...Jesus created community by gathering the 12 disciples.
A small group is made up of 6 to 12 people who come together to build relationships through encouragement, accountability, guidance, and prayer for the purpose of transformation through Christ.  In small groups we eat, worship, pray, and play together, as well as grow and serve together.
Members are encouraged to share their thoughts, feelings, struggles and joys while applying Biblical principles in their daily lives.
In these trusting relationships, members agree that what is said in the group will remain confidential and differences of opinions will be respected.
Small groups are not therapeutic support groups. FUMCOR offers support groups that are led by trained lay persons and professional counselors. Do you want to join together with other parents, young adults, or just women or men.  We have groups for everyone!

If you are interested in joining a small group, please contact Crystal Smith at 865-483-4357.
