First UMC realizes that safe, reliable childcare is the key to families being able to participate in church ministries. That's why we provide childcare for meetings, services and other church events in a safe, nurturing, Christian environment for young children.
Our adult childcare staff are CPR certified. Our teenage helpers work only in a room with an adult. We are a Safe Sanctuaries congregation and are happy to provide you with a copy of our Child Protection Policy upon request.
Regularly Scheduled Childcare (no reservation required)
Sundays: Childcare begins at 8:30 A.M.
Worship Care (8:30-9:45 and 10:45-12 noon). Children ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten are welcome in childcare. We use rooms 122 and 125 on the preschool hallway.
Sunday School (10:00 - 10:45): Kindergartners should be picked up by parents and escorted to their Sunday School Class. Preschoolers ages 3, 4 and 5 years will attend Sunday School in our child care room 125. Infants and younger children will have stories and music in nursery room 122.
To Request Childcare
First UMC can provide childcare for any church sponsored on-campus meeting, event, or program with prior planning. Events needing care must be scheduled Monday through Thursday. Request childcare for your next gathering by emailing Childcare Coordinator, Megan Alden. Reservations must be requested one week prior to event with the approximate ages and number of children expected. You will receive confirmation of each request when it is staffed.
No childcare is provided on Friday nights or Saturdays unless the Childcare Coordinator approves the request one month in advance. Additional cost to your program may apply.
Childcare is not provided more than 4 hours at a time.
