Mission Trips were scheduled for Honduras, Panama, Sager Brown and Disaster Relief Support for 2020. Days (actually hours) prior to the departure for the first 2020 Mission trip to Talanga, Honduras the trip was canceled due to the threat of COVID-19. As it turned out the borders of Honduras were shut down the Sunday that the team would have arrived. Since that time; the Panama trip, the Sager Brown trip and the Disaster Relief trip have been canceled. The Mission Trip Planning Team continues their planning for conducting future humanitarian Mission Trips as soon as health and safety concerns deem it appropriate. The nature and timing of future FUMCOR Mission Trips will depend upon the needs of the potential recipients, the desires of the participants and health and safety of all involved.
FUMCOR has sent 76 Humanitarian Mission Teams into the world. They have served in five countries (Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, Panama & the United States). Teams have performed Construction, Bible School, taught Sewing, held Medical, Health & Vision Clinics, performed and taught Children's Oral Health, taught Community Gardening, built Stoves, performed Pastoral Training, verified and assembled various Disaster Relief Kits, performed facility and grounds maintenance at UMCOR facilities and most importantly developed strong relationships while performing as Gods hands & feet on earth.
